Stock vs. Performance
Adding performance to any vehicle is something that should not be taken lightly. Vehicle manufacturers have spent millions of dollars designing vehicles so they will perform a lifetime of service (15-30 years in some cases). With that said some people may still feel the need to modify the look or performance of their vehicle. Some people may need more power, or may need to add towing devices, some just want to change the overall appearance of their vehicle. We call this custumizing.
Remember that modifying any vehicle from the stock configuration may have adverse affects. This is why its so important to choose people who understand your needs and your vehicles limits. Each vehicle is unique and you need to start with a good foundation before you can build a vehicle that meets your demands. Before any modifications are made we encourage you to build a relationship with people who understand your vehicle and what modifications can be done safely.
One of the ways you can gain more knowledge on modifying your vehicle is to tune in weekly to our sister show Gearhead Radio. The same hosts that bring you Drive Radio also host Gearhead Radio. They have over 50 years of combined experience in this area and are more than qualified to assist in any modification you may want to do to your vehicle. Each week they bring you different topics and answer questions related to modifying your existing vehicle. They talk about old cars, hot rods, high performance trucks, muscle cars and exotic cars. You can visit them on the web at www.gearheadradio.com and email them questions. There are also Podcasts of the show on that website just like we have here on Drive Radio. if you are a performance enthusiast than this is the show for you. Tune each Sat from 10-11 on AM760 and listen to them again on AM630 KHOW. |
